Why Clinics Use It

Built for documentation speed, not just barcode demos

VaxLink is designed around the moments where immunization teams lose time: manual entry, lot verification, and switching between source references and chart fields.

Lead gain

Reduce manual entry

Pull vaccine details from the barcode and the catalogue instead of typing lot, DIN, and expiry by hand.

Input error

Reduce transcription errors

Keep lot, DIN, expiry, and trade name together while documenting an immunization record.

Time saved

Speed up documentation

Give staff the same repeatable steps in Panorama and InputHealth instead of copying fields one at a time.

System Map

What the app does on an actual clinic screen

Each block maps to one step in the product: parse the barcode, check the lot, review the values, then inspect the bundle if something looks wrong.

split

Scan and parse GS1 vaccine barcodes

Read GTIN, lot, expiry, and serial from scanner output or pasted barcode strings.

Supports parenthesized GS1, compact payloads, and common text-label fallbacks used in clinic environments.

Works with AI 01, AI 10, AI 17, and AI 21 barcode fields.

split

Resolve lot metadata from NVC

Match scanned lot numbers against National Vaccine Catalogue concepts.

Show trade name, DIN, and related product details before anything is entered into the chart.

Fill supported CHR fields

Write parsed vaccine details into Panorama and InputHealth with fewer manual steps.

VaxLink targets the active page fields needed for immunization documentation rather than broad browser automation.

Review source catalogue data when needed

Inspect cached bundle resources, lot matches, and barcode output in one place.

Use this when a barcode looks odd, a lot does not match, or you want to review the bundle directly.

Use Cases

Three ways teams can move through the product

The extension handles chart entry, review, and bundle refresh. The structure below shows where those steps meet.

Step 01

In-clinic barcode scan

  • Scan or paste barcode output
  • Resolve lot metadata from NVC
  • Review autofill-ready values in extension
Best for routine Panorama and InputHealth documentation.

Step 02

Manual barcode fallback

  • Paste compact GS1 or labeled text
  • Confirm parsed AI values
  • Continue with autofill or manual verification
Useful when scanners output plain text or partial payloads.

Step 03

Cached bundle review

  • Refresh the local NVC bundle
  • Paste barcode or check lot data
  • Confirm the current reference details
Best for troubleshooting or confirming what is in the current bundle.

Product Mode

Extension-first workflow for chart entry

VaxLink centers on the extension: parse the barcode, review the fields, and write the chart values with fewer manual steps.

Entry Mode

Extension

Parse the barcode, review the fields, and fill Panorama or InputHealth with fewer manual steps.

Current support

Panorama and InputHealth on Chrome are the supported autofill environments in this release.

Browser requirement

The extension installs through Chrome Developer mode as an unpacked Manifest V3 extension.

Planned environments

OSCAR, Wolf, and PS Suite are still on the roadmap. They are not supported in the current extension.

Trust and Source of Truth

What data VaxLink uses and what the extension can touch

The site keeps this section plain: data source, local storage, and the browser permissions tied to chart entry.

Data summary

Bundle, browser, and chart access

VaxLink uses the National Vaccine Catalogue bundle maintained by the Public Health Agency of Canada as its lot reference. Bundle data stays in browser storage for repeated lookups. The extension targets the active chart fields needed for autofill and is not affiliated with PHAC.
